Aloe Blacc - You Make Me Smile [Music Video]

Stones Throw representative Aloe Blacc returns to the face of the Earth with a new music video for the track, "You Make Me Smile", off his 2010 album, "Good Things". The album flung Blacc on several world tours last year, even bringing him to Toronto, where the RVS crew got the chance to meet him. The Pointer Sisters - Automatic (SNDCLSH & Dj Kue Remix) [DWNLD]

"DJ Kue and The SNDCLSH have collaborated once again, this time with a remix of the classic Pointer Sisters hit "Automatic." The original Pointer Sisters track first appeared on their seminal album BREAK OUT, released in 1983.
A favorite of Lupe, Sky, and Kue, "Automatic" won the Pointer Sisters a Grammy Award for "Best Vocal Arrangement for Two or More Voices" in 1985. The SNDCLSH x DJ Kue Automatic Remix is for promotional use only, and is nothing more than a tribute to the widely-loved Pointer Sisters' hit.
The trio of DJ Kue, Lupe, and Sky felt that it was only fitting to drop their homage to this Grammy-Award Winning track, and to the venerated vocal trio, on the first day of Grammy Award week, 2012. Once a classic, forever a classic.

Dela - The Robert Glasper Beat Tape [DWNLD]

I first heard Robert Glasper's music 3-4 years ago. At the time, all I was listening to was J-Dilla, I just could not get enough of his music, until I had listened to just about everything that had been released at that time. So the next best thing after that was finding tributes or artists that were inspired by him. Thats when I came across Robert Glasper's "J Dillalude" off of his album "In My Element" which was a Jazz rendition/tribute of various J Dilla beats. This specific song got me absolutely hooked on Glasper's music as well as Jazz and music production itself.

I first heard the French Canadian producer Dela about two years ago, while searching for more Dilla-esque music, I came across a cover of J-Dilla's "Won't Do" which was re-mastered by Dela and featuring Miles Bonny on the vocals off of the album "Changes In Atmosphere." I was immediately hooked on Dela's work after this:

Now, to get to what I originally started this post out for: Here is a Robert Glasper Beat Tape presented and re-mastered by Dela. The beat tape is pure genius. Two artists that have both been influenced by Dilla on the same beat tape...What more could you ask for?

Breakestra - Dusk Till Dawn [Album Review]

It's time to rewind and bring us all the way back to that funky beat that made our predecessors dance so hard. I'm bringing you this rewind with a twist of contemporaneous beats that made me absolutely love this album. Who am I talking about? Breakestra and their new album Dusk Till Dawn. Their blend of late 60s and early 70s soul, funk and a bit of hip hop makes this album a must listen to while just chilling out! Chali 2na's appearance on the album allows for a change of beat that is both refreshing and innovative within the album. I will admit that this album isn't the newest, but it definitely is something worth listening to!
