Flying Lotus - Until The Quiet Comes (Short Film) [Video]

As Flying Lotus prepares to release his highly anticipated LP, "Until The Quiet Comes", the LA producer collaborates with Kahlil Joseph on this abstract short film of the same name. Filmed in the Nickerson Gardens Projects in Watts, the narrative features Flying Lotus in a turnt up lowrider as he resurrects a young dancer (Storyboard P) wearing a "J Dilla Changed My Life" t-shirt with his ambient sounds. The storyline seems to parallel what FlyLo has managed to accomplish in the last few years by reviving a generation of new producers by building off the late great J Dilla's legacy with his progressive and soulfully inspired music. Watch the phenomenally orchestrated short film and pre-order "Until The Quiet Comes" below!

J Dilla - Crushin' (Original Version) (Prod. Waajeed) [Stream]

" Todays stream is of the original version of, “Crushin” produced by me. We have J Rocc to thank for this one. I was Djing with Houseshoes in San Fran with Fran Boogie and DJ Mr. E. We heard J Rocc was staying in the same hotel and went to holla at him. We were talking about Dilla rarities when he said that he liked that version of, “Crushin” I did. I was like what version!?! He played it and it split my melon! I did that beat for Dilla circa 2002 for his MCA project – I assumed he never used it when I didn’t hear anything. Turns out it was the original version that he later remixed himself for his then – newly founded label, Mummy Records. Exclusive! " - Waajeed (Jeedo)

Slum Village - Tell Me (Prod. J Dilla) (Unreleased) [Stream]

NEW SLUM VILLAGE!!! This is one of the first tracks the legendary crew ever recored together and the beat was made before Jay Dee even had a drum machine! Just....wow. Listen and read the full story behind the record as told by Bling 47's Waajeed below.
" While some consider Dilla’s strong suit to be production, others look to his rhyming for inspiration. This early Slum Village track, “Tell Me What You Want” is a fine example of his ill penmanship. It was one of the first efforts as Baatin, T3 and Dilla came out of the Senepod crew name and became Slum Village. At the time Dilla didn’t even have a drum machine, so this beat was actually made using the “pause and record” tape method. It was never released. Enjoy " - Waajeed (Jeedo)

Bling 47 continues to supply us with exclusive unreleased goodies this time with an unreleased Dilla remix of Que D's single, "Cash Flow". Listen and read the full story as told by Waajeed below!
" Que D “Cash Flow (Remix)” I first got this cassette while hanging out in Dilla’s basement in Conant Gardens, Detroit. The original track was part of Dilla’s cousin – Que D’s first EP, Quite Delicious. Dilla did all of the beats and I did the photography/artwork for Que’s 6 track release that we put out ourselves in ‘96. There were remixes for every song that never saw the light of day till now. Check this one for “Cash Flow.” Enjoy " - Waajeed (Jeedo)

J Dilla - Clap Your Hands (Unreleased Freestyle) [Stream]

It's not what he's saying, but how he said it....Jay Dee, along with Slum Village pioneered this hurky jerky style of rapping which flows so well. Check out more unreleased material at Bling 47. Happy Dilla month!
" I got this one on a cassette from T3 circa 1997. I’m not sure what it was for, or why Dilla had this on tape, but I thought it was hilarious. “Shut the F*ck Up and listen to this… this.” This kind of style was typical for our crew at this time – we were just finishing up the Fantastic Vol 1 album. It was never about what they said – but instead how they said it. We called it “R.A.W.” – Rugged And wild. And that is exactly what this one is – tape hiss and all. Enjoy " - Jeedo (Waajeed)
