The good folks at Okayplayer and DJ Mick Boogie kindly put together this 36 track mixtape filled with golden remixes and rarities by legendary artists Nas and The Roots. The project is appropriately titled "Illadelph / Matic" which is a combination of the album names of The Roots classic, "Illadelph Halflife" and Nas' classic "Illmatic". The music world has been buzzin' since D'Angelo began to stage his long awaited comeback with video's of extraordinary live performances surfacing online of his current European tour. In anticipation of some new material from the reemerging artist, Okayplayer and Sam Champ put together this wonderful mixtape filled with D'Angelo's live recordings of both classics as well as some choice J Dilla covers. The legendary Roots crew drop there moving visuals for the lead single, Make My, off the upcoming Undun album. Although the album version features Big K.R.I.T, the video is much better suited without his verse in terms of progressing the narrative of the concept album. Undun tells the tragic story of Redford Stevens, a man who died in 1999 at the age of 25. This is just the first of four videos that will tell his story. The album drops December 6th.
