In this EP, up and coming Hip-Hop/Experimental rapper, Ced Hughes, lays down an entire album worth of bars on various beats off of "Butter." Now, I never thought Hudson Mohawke's beats were meant to be taken and rapped over because they were just that good instrumentally, let alone that there would be a full mixtape released of it! But I have to give the man Ced Hughes major credit. He definitely did his thing over every beat not trying to take the spot light from the beats but rather flowing with them smoothly.
Check the video below for the track "Spacely Sprokets" off of Margarine:

Due to recent controversy about this project and the people behind it, RVS would just like to say that I acknowledge that Hudson Mohawke or anyone that represents him, had absolutely nothing to due with the above mixtape. It's simply Ced Hughes that rapped over his beats without his permission, that is all, please don't spam the comment area with hate messages toward us, its simply a mixtape that we posted. End of discussion.
hudmo did not collaborate with you on this. you used the beats without permission. don't put his name on the cover if you just popped some mp3s into a DAW and put your lame lyrics on top of them you dumb fuck. supreme lameness
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, I never said this was a collaborative album. I simply posted it on RVS as a MIXTAPE. Go back and read it carefully. Second of all, I don't know why you keep saying "you" in your comment because I am not the one who made this MIXTAPE, Ced Hughes is. The reason I keep capitalizing MIXTAPE, is because it seems that you don't know what it is! A MIXTAPE is usually a MIX featuring beats from various artists without their consent and are available for FREE DOWNLOAD and are not charged any money! Therefore permission is not necessary because there are no royalties to be given. Also I think its pretty likely that Ced Hughes probably asked HudMo if it was okay to rap over his beats since he did an entire EP. I don't care if you think the MIXTAPE is lame because, unfortunately, you are entitled to your ignorant opinion. HudMo's name is probably on the MIXTAPE cover mainly because the guy used his beats for an entire EP, would you rather have him give no credit what so ever? Cuz last time I checked beats are what make a track. At RVS we like to encourage all types of music, and don't tolerate hate. Think before you speak.
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA man dude that commented first got the shit MURKED out of him by RVS!
ReplyDeleteProps to RVS for holdin' it down, ya'll got a dope blog, keep doing ya thing and ignore haters like this idiot up top.
hahaha seriously MURKED, anonymous needs to keep his mouth shut! Agree with Andrew, ya'll are exactly what music needs today, open mindedness unlike the "dumb fuck" up top who didn't even have the balls to leave a name.
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous: As Kareem said, you are entitled to your own ignorant opinion. I suggest next time you keep it to yourself.
ReplyDelete@Andrew + Jon: Kareem and I are glad to hear you enjoy our blog. Advertise it wherever you like and keep the comments coming!
Oh, and one last thing:
ReplyDelete@ Anonymous: Seriously? You're going to try and insult us with 'supreme lameness'? How about we graduate from pre-school and learn how to fucking speak English? Either that, or learn how to insult us correctly.
