" Dam-Funk's first new tracks leading up to his next album "Invite the Light" are now released on the 12" maxi-single "I Don't Wanna Be A Star". The record contains two vocals - the title track and the Prince cover "17 Days" - and two instrumentals. Record cover by Freddy Anzures.


A video for the title track "I Don't Wanna Be A Star" is currently in production with director Eric Coleman - expect a premiere in early September 2012. "

In a recent live show at the The Drake Underground, Toronto based jazz trio, Badbadnotgood caused a ruckus with two previously unheard live covers. The band first covered Kanye West's Flashing Lights followed by an encore performance of Jay-Z and Kanye's Ni**as In Paris. Hopefully these phenomenal recomposition's will be on their next mixtape!

In the live recording session, the trio cover some of the masked mans alias' including Madvillain's Supervillain Theme, King Geedorah's Fazers and Doom's Vomitspit.

Toronto's rising talent; progressive jazz band, BADBADNOTGOOD, hooked up with Tyler The Creator in TDot last week before the sold out Odd Future show to perform Tyler's track Seven. The trio have recomposed and covered a number of classic tracks including A Tribe Called Quests' Electric Relaxtaion, J Dilla's Fall In Love, Flying Lotus' Camel and many more. These guys have great taste. Grab there recently self titled mixtape which features the above mentioned tracks and more here.
