" Balloons of Haus is house music for the "I'm not really into techno" folks. It's uptempo but more to the point (free of those minute long intros/breakdowns of arbitrary ambience). The concept was born of my interest in bringing The Weeknd's vibe to a DJ set. He's talking about what every other artist you hear in the club is talking about except he's artistic, emotionally believable. The Weeknd's subject matter is already club friendly. The pace however was only bedroom friendly. My project still retains that laid back, mellow uptempo R&B vibe but picks up on a harder electro vibe with the Dirty Diana remix. Golden age house legend, Eli Escobar, drops his infectious new four track EP entitled, "Work It", on Dither Down Records. The project showcases Eli's classic style of r&b heavy samples echoing over new age house compositions. You probably know by now that we're all about that golden age house at RVS; an infused mixture of motown, funk and a classic house beat. When you get a veteran producer tickling your taste buds every time with his production, you want to call him a legend. Either way, Sammy Bananas works his magic on Young Jeezy's track "I Do" and with a simple abracadabra you get a golden age house track that'll have you clicking replay all day! This weeks Turn Back Time Monday flashes back to the legendary house producer, Cajmere's hit track, Brighter Days featuring the beautiful voice of Dajae circa 1992. There are about 15 different versions of this classic single but the nine and a half minute extended version is probably my all time favorite. Listen and get lost in the nostalgic days of golden age 90's house.
