After releasing his well received EP, "I Don't Wanna Be A Star!" late last month, modern day g-fonk icon, DāM-FunK, let's loose the West Coast visuals for the smooth title track. The music video starts off with the Stones Throw artist surrounded by the tools of his musical passion followed by some good old fashion, down to earth cruisin', as he contemplates his anti-stardom. DāM-FunK - 17 Days (Prince Cover) [Stream]

" Dam-Funk's first new tracks leading up to his next album "Invite the Light" are now released on the 12" maxi-single "I Don't Wanna Be A Star". The record contains two vocals - the title track and the Prince cover "17 Days" - and two instrumentals. Record cover by Freddy Anzures.


A video for the title track "I Don't Wanna Be A Star" is currently in production with director Eric Coleman - expect a premiere in early September 2012. "

Stones Throw's modern funk machine, DāM-FunK drops yet another unreleased gem via his Soundcloud titled, "Serious". This one features a nice progressive jazz twist reminiscent of some late Roy Ayers. Nothing like some upbeat jazz funk to vibe you through the day.

Tony Cook - What's On Your Mind? ft. DāM-FunK (Video) [DWNLD]

Earlier last year, legendary drummer for the late great James Brown; Tony Cook, dropped an anthology of rare and unreleased recordings circa 1982-1986 appropriately titled, "Back To Reality". One of the standout tracks on the project was the DāM-FunK featured single, "What's On Your Mind". Last week Stones Throw dropped the vintage 80's animated visuals for the track.
