Slum Village - Dirty Slums (Mixtape) [DWNLD]

In 2008, after Slum Village dropped their album, "Villa Manifesto", the rumours were that it would be the last project the legendary Detroit collective would ever put out. Having lost two major components of the group, J Dilla and Baatin, it seemed like a sad yet conceivable notion. Despite the rumours, nearly two years later, we are now surprised with the Mick Boogie presented mixtape, "Dirty Slums". This version of Slum Village consists of original member, T3, Dilla's younger brother Illa J and longtime producer for the crew, Young RJ. The 20 track project features a variety of hip-hop names including De La Soul, Rapper Big Pooh, Phonte, Black Milk, Phife Dawg, Joe Scudda, Big Sean and many more! While the majority of the production is taken care of by Young RJ. It may not be the original SV but they're keeping the legacy alive with this one.

Black Milk x Jack White

This is one of those collaborations that makes your head spin and go, "whaaaaaaaaaaaaat". Two legends collide to release a 7'' vinyl on White's record label Third Man Records. Check out the story behind the collab and the 2 tracks below!
" The time we spent in Nashville collaborating with Jack White was one of the greatest moments in my music career. It not only inspired me to continue to work hard as a producer, but also confirmed that staying true to my art, without compromise, can manifest into the type of rewards that money can’t buy. "

Random Axe (Sean Price, Black Milk & Guilty Simpson) - Random Call (Music Video) [DWNLD]

The DeTwah trio released this unique half animated half filmed music video for my favorite track off the recently released Random Axe debut album. Can we all go ahead and agree that Black Milk is the rawest producer and Guilty Simpson is the most underrated rhyme sayer out there right now?

Bilal - The Dollar (Black Milk Remix) [DWNLD]

Bilal's track The Dollar, off of Airtight's Revenge, gets the remix treatment from the multitalented Black Milk and the results will leave your neck in a trance.

The Sounds of VTech / The Dollar (Black Milk Remix)
" Bilal’s “The Dollar," Black Milk remix. This remix has been in the works for quite some time. Bilal is a mysterious dude. You never know what might or might not move him. Same goes for Black Milk. These guys move at their own pace and at their own times. Luckily for us, the music gods have been with us on this Airtight journey. Initially, upon listening to the roughs of the album, “The Dollar” was one of the tracks that led Plug Research to sign Bilal. We are happy to see it given a second breath through this new and awesome interpretation. " - VTech

It's time to wrap up the top ten tracks of 2010! As we all know, there were too many amazing tracks released this year to list them all, so we have narrowed down our top 10 favorites. Keep in mind that these selections are based on the opinions of the RVS crew. Black Milk – Welcome (Gotta Go) (Music Video)

Very dope new music video for one of my favorite tracks off Black Milk's "Album Of The Year", "Welcome (Gotta Go)".

The Director; Anthony Garth, uses hundreds of still frame shots synchronized with the hard hitting, trademark drums laced by Black Milk himself to put together a very unique and forward thinking music video.

Black Milk - Album Of The Year (Stream)

What a great day for music! I spent all day listening to some of the most anticipated releases of the year so I'm just gonna go in the order I listened to them in.

First up is Black Milk's "Album Of The Year which is finally up and streaming online and available for purchase physically and digitally below:

<a href="http://blackmilk.bandcamp.com/album/album-of-the-year">Album of the Year by Black Milk</a>
I don't want to get into whether I think the album lived up to the name or not (as not to attract the haters). But I will say that it's a great album, every track has a neck braking beat along with raw untouchable lyrics which results in a "Deadly Melody"!

Definitely worth going out and grabbing this album!

Also "Album Of The Year" release party's are going on around the US this week and the RVS crew is gonna try and head over to the Daytwa (Detroit) edition of the party keep you all in the know!

NEW YORK
Black Milk will be traveling to Brooklyn, NY to celebrate the album’s release at Southpaw on Tuesday, Sept 14. Also performing will be Sean Price, Elzhi, and Guilty Simpson, along with Brooklyn’s own DJ Spinna on the wheels. This event will be 18+. Order tickets here.

SAN FRANCISCO
On Friday, September 24, Black will be making his San Francisco debut at the venue Mighty. The heavyweight lineup will be in effect with Detroit-representatives Elzhi and DJ House Shoes making the trip. This event will be 21+. You can order your tickets here.

DETROIT
Last, and absolutely not least, Black Milk is throwing a massive album release party in his hometown of Detroit at St. Andrews Hall on Saturday, September 18. In addition to his usual band of AB & Daru, the Will Sessions band will be backing him, along with DJ Dez on turntables.
The party will also double as the homecoming of HexMurda, who will be making his first appearance since his stroke in 2010. Guaranteed to be a night to remember for Detroit. Only $5 to get in. No pre-sale tickets… just show up. 18+.

YESS!

Black Milk - “Deady Medley” Featuring Royce Da 5’9″ & Elzhi (Music Video) & Album Of The Year [DWNLD]

"Yeah, let's talk about who's the most underestimated plus Underrated" producer and rapper in this hip-hop game; Black Milk! Black's "Album Of The Year is releasing on September 14th and I can't wait to get it! Judging from everything I've heard lately, I see no reason why this wouldn't be "Album Of The Year" ("critics saying how dare you!")

Devonwho x Black Milk x NAMELESS - "Actriz Mix" [DWNLD]

Can't say I saw this collaboration coming but I was definitely excited when I saw these artists names in the same sentence! This track does not disappoint either with the drums eq'ed perfectly giving the beat a typical Black Milk feel while sampled Dilla vocals echo on top that make "you wanna bounce in ya whip, with that real live shit!"
