Earlier this year, progressive jazz collective The Robert Glasper Experiment, released their phenomenal full length album, "Black Radio".
Following tremendous response, we are now presented with the 6 track remix EP, "Black Radio Recovered".
The project features rework's from 9th Wonder, Phonte, Pete Rock, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Solange Knowles, The Roots, Black Milk and Robert Glasper himself.
The final track is pt. 2 of Glasper's classic melody, "J Dillalude", an ode to the late great J Dilla.
In 2008, after Slum Village dropped their album, "Villa Manifesto", the rumours were that it would be the last project the legendary Detroit collective would ever put out. Having lost two major components of the group, J Dilla and Baatin, it seemed like a sad yet conceivable notion. Despite the rumours, nearly two years later, we are now surprised with the Mick Boogie presented mixtape, "Dirty Slums". This version of Slum Village consists of original member, T3, Dilla's younger brother Illa J and longtime producer for the crew, Young RJ. The 20 track project features a variety of hip-hop names including De La Soul, Rapper Big Pooh, Phonte, Black Milk, Phife Dawg, Joe Scudda, Big Sean and many more! While the majority of the production is taken care of by Young RJ. It may not be the original SV but they're keeping the legacy alive with this one.

It's time to wrap up the top ten tracks of 2010! As we all know, there were too many amazing tracks released this year to list them all, so we have narrowed down our top 10 favorites. Keep in mind that these selections are based on the opinions of the RVS crew. We have nothing against other "big" singles released this year, these are just the tracks, based on our own criteria, that ended up having the most plays in our iTunes.
Its time for RVS's Top 50 albums of 2010! We've put together a list of albums that we loved from this year to give each artist the recognition they deserve. Keep in mind that this was an extremely difficult process ranking each album from 1-50 as we thought that a smaller countdown would leave out too many great albums. Give it up to all these talented artists!

The Director; Anthony Garth, uses hundreds of still frame shots synchronized with the hard hitting, trademark drums laced by Black Milk himself to put together a very unique and forward thinking music video.
What a great day for music! I spent all day listening to some of the most anticipated releases of the year so I'm just gonna go in the order I listened to them in.
First up is Black Milk's "Album Of The Year which is finally up and streaming online and available for purchase physically and digitally below:
I don't want to get into whether I think the album lived up to the name or not (as not to attract the haters). But I will say that it's a great album, every track has a neck braking beat along with raw untouchable lyrics which results in a "Deadly Melody"!
Definitely worth going out and grabbing this album!
Also "Album Of The Year" release party's are going on around the US this week and the RVS crew is gonna try and head over to the Daytwa (Detroit) edition of the party keep you all in the know!

In addition to his usual band of AB & Daru, the Will Sessions band will be backing him, along with DJ Dez on turntables. The party will also double as the homecoming of HexMurda, who will be making his first appearance since his stroke in 2010. Guaranteed to be a night to remember for Detroit. Only $5 to get in. "Yeah, let's talk about who's the most underestimated plus Underrated" producer and rapper in this hip-hop game; Black Milk! Black's "Album Of The Year is releasing on September 14th and I can't wait to get it! Judging from everything I've heard lately, I see no reason why this wouldn't be "Album Of The Year" ("critics saying how dare you!")

Can't say I saw this collaboration coming but I was definitely excited when I saw these artists names in the same sentence! This track does not disappoint either with the drums eq'ed perfectly giving the beat a typical Black Milk feel while sampled Dilla vocals echo on top that make "you wanna bounce in ya whip, with that real live shit!"
