Aloe Blacc - You Make Me Smile [Music Video]

Stones Throw representative Aloe Blacc returns to the face of the Earth with a new music video for the track, "You Make Me Smile", off his 2010 album, "Good Things". The album flung Blacc on several world tours last year, even bringing him to Toronto, where the RVS crew got the chance to meet him. A humble artist with a voice like his is hard to come across nowadays, so check out the video below and enjoy!

A beautiful voice, song, and music video to get this week started on the right foot!

The Do-Over Vol. 1: Flying Lotus & House Shoes

This gem that seemed to just FlyLo under the radar is from January of 2010 and absolutely deserves some more recognition. Two of my favorites tracks from both Flying Lotus and House Shoes. Listen and grab The Do-Over Vol. 1 below.
"The Do-Over is a summertime party in L.A. founded by Aloe Blacc, Stones Throw behind-the-scenes architect Jamie Strong & Chris Haycock featuring a who's who of mystery guests. The renown party now comes to life in the form of a Limited 10-inch record series featuring exclusive tracks from guests of the party. Each volume is limited to 1,000 copies, featuring deluxe artwork/packaging by a different graphic designer."
"Volume 1 offers up two neck snapping bangers courtesy of Flying Lotus (Warp/Brainfeeder) & House Shoes (debut release) in this LA vs Detroit beatdown. " - Stones Throw Records
On Side A we have House Shoes going to town on Curtis Mayfield's The Makings of You.
On Side B we have Flying Lotus' Sangria Spin Cycles

14KT Ft. Aloe Blacc - Fourteen [DWNLD]

Aloe shows his rapping skills over this dope 14KT production entitled "Fourteen" talking about his life at the age of 14.

 Aloe Blacc "Fourteen" by 14KT
" 2009. I asked my mans Aloe Blacc to laced this joint for the "Nowalataz" rerelease I was gonna do. I had asked an artist for each song, but I never really heard back from anyone so I ended up not getting the project done. However, Aloe Blacc was the first cat to ever hit me back. I sent him the joint and the NEXT day, he sent the verse back for the love. He wrote about being 14 years old. I appreciate him and thank him for looking out for me. Aloe, you know I got you..whatever you need. Peace. " - 14KT

Charles Bradley ft. Menahan Street Band - No Time For Dreaming [DWNLD]

With the modern revival of both soul and funk with flag bearers ranging from Dam-Funk to Peanut Butter Wolf while stopping at Mayer Hawthorne and Aloe Blacc, it's no surprise to see Charles Bradley release his debut album much along the lines of the latter artists. With sounds that emulate the work of both Mayer Hawthorne and Aloe Blacc, you may believe that this man doesn't bring anything else to the table other than similar sounds but, we ask you to think again. The 62 year old man is releasing his debut album alongside the Menahan Street Band, whom were made famous for their album 'Make The Road By Walking'. Charles Bradley has a voice that resembles the emotional hardships of today's world and although the going may get tough, Bradley 'believes in your love'. This artist and this album is not one to miss as 'No Time For Dreaming' is dropped on Daptones the 25th of January. Grab it, jam to it, and let the sound capture your soul and take you away.

Exile - Radio Bonus LP (Free Download) [DWNLD]

More artists should release albums like this when they can't fit everything onto one LP! Enjoy the free material and remixes!

"Free download of Exile’s Radio (Bonus Album) in celebration of his upcoming August 31st AM/FM release via Plug Research. AM/FM will feature various producers remixing the original Radio tracks, while Blu, Fashawn, Shafiq Husayn, Samiyam, Free the Robots, DJ Day, Clutchy Hopkins, Evidence, Alchemist, Krondon, Muhsinah, Aloe Blacc, Grouch and Eligh go over the originals. The amount of submissions were so high, not everything could fit on the official AM/FM album, hence the free download."

Give every track a listen below before you download the whole album for FREE:
