"Big Bad Wolf" "is pretty simple, and it can mean anything, really, so we wanted the video to have its own narrative," says A-Trak, one-half of the dance duo Duck Sauce, along with DJ Armand Van Helden. "Remember when dance music videos used to actually be creative? Like when you think back to Aphex Twin, Fatboy Slim and Daft Punk… I don't know why the genre's videos became so generic in recent years.
"When Keith [Schoffield] came up with this idea of 'crotchfaces,' we just thought it was hilarious," A-Trak continues. "He started coming up with all these gags and describing the characters living in this sort of parallel world, and we were sold. He wasn't sure if we'd be down to play the leads, but our take on this was, if we're going to do this, we need to go all the way. So we played the dickheads, essentially." - via Rolling Stone

It's time to wrap up the top ten tracks of 2010! As we all know, there were too many amazing tracks released this year to list them all, so we have narrowed down our top 10 favorites. Keep in mind that these selections are based on the opinions of the RVS crew. We have nothing against other "big" singles released this year, these are just the tracks, based on our own criteria, that ended up having the most plays in our iTunes.

Duck Sauce - Barbara Streisand [Music Video]
I know I'm extremely late by posting this, but I'm still doing it up. You may spend years trying to find an appealing techno music video ranging from animation-styled videos from Daft Punk to attractive women in little clothing walking around a street. In all honesty, we don't listen to techno for the videos, because, well, if we did, we'd be mindless horny bastards. Rather, it's simply the musicality of the song that makes us endure the cheesy 90s Japanese animation or the guy walking around town with a saxophone. But this video, is one that catches your eye and never gets old.
I think I've watched it 30 times in a mindless daydream and still enjoy every bit of it. Duck Sauce's Barbara Streisand features cameos from just about anyone in the music industry. It's a Where's Waldo of sorts for roughly three minutes of pure musical genius. Van Helden and A-Trak sample the perfect piece of the 60s disco song 'Gotta Go Home' by Boney M. In any case, we at RVS absolutely love this music video. Leave us comments about your favourite music video below!!

The Weekly Electronic Smash!
What up people!
This month of July is bringing about changes for RVS and the way we will be blogging. First, you can find us on Facebook as a fan page @ http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rhythmic-Variations-Of-Sound/134295623268705. Also new, we have changed our e-mail to rhythmicvariationsofsound@gmail.com so don't forget to drop us any beats you'd want to see us put up! I believe that a Twitter account is also on its way to creation so don't forget to check us out there too! We're still on SoundCloud, you know where to find us on there. We are also thinking of uploading weekly videos from time to time to recap the week in music beginning in September! Finally, on my part, I will be serving you a weekly dosage of techno every Saturday so stay tuned to check that out!
Starting with this Saturday, I'm hitting you with a couple of albums that are fresh on the market! Below you'll find a mini summary of the artist and their album along with one of their songs and possibly a download link!
Rusko has hit us with yet another remix but this time it's a 4th of July remix that was originally done by Kelis. We know Kelis' voice from the song Acapella but Rusko transforms her style to a blend of both dubstep and techno. In any case, it is a must for the next 4th of July so download it or buy it on iTunes. Do it for your country.
I am sorry for not being able to find a better quality video!
A couple of weeks ago I blogged about Mustard Pimp and how they were dubbed the next big French duo. A couple years ago, I was obsessed with an artist by the name of Brodinski. He too, was dubbed the next big thing out of France. Today, we have yet another. French Fries could not have picked a better name either. Mumdance has named them the next big French duo since the likes of Daft Punk and I want to know what you think of their mix! It's available to download on the link below.
I've got to say, when Duck Sauce came out, I was blown away. The fusion of funk and techno by two greats such as van Helden and A-Trak was always going to be a hit. Well, guess what? They just filmed it while performed live. And, on top of that, the video includes Trizzy live with Travis. Trizzy, you never fail to impress.
Sticking to videos, the highly anticipated video for Kingdom's 'Mind Reader' is out! Definitely a must see so check it out below!
Finally, the much awaited for EP is out on Fool's Gold! It's none other than Green Money's Gold Rush EP! It sailed to the top download on Juno and is now available on BeatPort and iTunes! As a bonus, check out the new Jokers of The Scene Mix on SoundCloud which is available for download!
Until next week, peace!
