Ed Banger's rising French producer, Breakbot, continues to push his freshly acclaimed new album, By Your Side, with the latest visuals for the standout single, "One Out Of Two". Much like the rest of the LP, the track features a boisterous and funky production topped off by the smooth vocals of Irfane. Justice - ON'N'ON [Music Video]

French DJ's, Justice, are back with their third video off the "Audio, Video, Disco" album for the track, "ON'N'ON". This is a really sick track to begin with and director Alexandre Courtes does it justice with this mind trip of a video. There will also be an "ON'N'ON Remix EP" dropping on January 30th featuring reworks by Brodinski, Tiga, Rick Rubin, Erol Alkan and Video Village.

DJ Mehdi - Loukoums (J Dilla Tribute Mix) [DWNLD]

The range and variety of different artists, regardless of genre and time period, that the late great J Dilla was able to inspire is still unbelievable to me. In 2006 DJ Mehdi paid homage to Jay Dee through this mix entitled Loukoums which was captivated by Dilla's Donuts. The mix was a limited release amongst friends. Earlier today, in light of Mehdi's tragic passing, Busy P decided it was time to share it with the world.

" Based on the DONUTS album concept, these are demos, out-takes and unreleased gems from various records I worked on before and during the making of LUCKY BOY, my next album. Stuff comes from MEGALOPOLIS, 113 DEGRES and SHEITAN soundtrack mainly, but some is older too. Hope you enjoy these rough mixes and un-polished sounds, as I pay hommage to 'one of the greatest minds to ever make beats,' Mr James Yancey, better known as JAY DEE, also know as DILLA. " - Mehdi, 2006

Rest In Paradise: DJ Mehdi - I Am Somebody ft. Chromeo [Music Video]

Today is a very sad day as the music world mourns the loss of another truly gifted musician, the 34 year old DJ Mehdi. As a tribute, RVS would like to commemorate his legacy with one our favorite Medhi tracks, I Am Somebody featuring Chromeo circa 2006.

People Never Get The Flowers While They Can Still Smell Em'

You were somebody.

The Weekly Electronic Smash!

It's that time of the week again and a lot has been happening in the electronic world. We'll start off by checking out Mad Decent! This week Mad Decent released two dope mixtapes. The first one is by none other but the legend that is Mumdance. Last week I wrote about how Mumdance was dubbing the new hit from France but to be honest, he is so legendary he shouldn't even be worried about dubbing the next big French hit. A while ago he dropped another mixtape with AC Slater on Trouble and Bass, but this Mad Decent mixtape has so much unreleased music some of the songs don't even have titles! Download it below and blast it!

Mad Decent also released the Lazerproof mixtape which was made by both Diplo and Switch for La Roux while they were in Jamaica working on new stuff. It has a think reggae feel to it and it definitely fits with the whole Major Lazer outfit. The album is available below so download it!

Fool's Gold did something quite spectacular this week: they started up a side blog - Food's Gold. And yes, you guessed it, it's completely and utterly about food! How dope is that? Not only can you check out new releases but now you can check out awesome recipes! Now all we need are foolishly golden drinks and we're set for the best nights out!

Fool's Gold also released the L.A. Riot's Summer mix which can be downloaded below. Personally, I enjoyed their spring mix more, but check it out and post me some feedback on which you prefer!

Ed Banger Records have finally released the digital version of Mr. Oizo and Gaspard Auge's Rubber EP. As a bonus on the EP, and this one goes out to all our dubstep fans, Flying Lotus remixed the shit out of the song Rubber. In fact, he remixed it so much, that it's officially called the 'Flying Lotus Unprotected Sex' remix. It's that legit. A while back Mr. Oizo had remixed a FlyLo song, so FlyLo has just paid the man back.

Finally, as a bonus this week I offer two specials:

1. The Fool's Gold x Creators Project : Explaining the origins and the work at Fool's Gold, exclusive to the Slow Roast Records blog.

2. A Mux Mool remix! I'm a big fan of Mux Mool and their work and this remix is dope. Check out the song below!

Until next week people!
