RVS Presents The 50 Best Albums Of 2011

2011 has turned out to be a fantastic year in music. We saw the emergence of a variety of young talent in a range of genres. We also saw a slew of veteran artists return to what originally made them great. There has literally just been too much good music that came out this year that it's easy to understand if you couldn't keep up with a lot of it. When compiling this list we actually had somewhere around a 100 different albums that could all easily be on this list therefore narrowing it down to just 50 was extremely difficult and arduous. So give it up to all these talented artists in 2011!

RVS Presents The 50 Best Albums Of 2011:

Drake - Take Care (Chopped & Screwed Mixtape) [DWNLD]

Drake's sophomore album, Take Care gets Chopped & Screwed by one of the orignal founders of Swishahouse, DJ OG Ron C, who is also a producer for UGK. I'm usually not a fan of the whole chopped & screwed concept but this one is pretty dope. Listen to  and download Chop Care below!

Drake - Over My Dead Body (Knxwledge Remix)

In the last year Philly producer extraordinaire, Knxwledge, has probably released more dope music than most artists entire discography's. Like seriously, the man bangs out a brand new album every two weeks! His latest cut entitled OvrMyne is an ill rendition of Drake's Over My Dead Body off of Take Care. This is Knxwledge's second Drake remix after reworking Marvin's Room this past summer.

Drake - Over My Dead Body (Star Slinger Remix) [DWNLD]

U.K producer, Star Slinger, shares his upbeat electronic Jetlag Edit of Drake's Over My Dead Body off of Take Care.

Personally, I think all the 'Drake is soft' comments are pretty arrogant but this mock album cover is pretty hilarious.

Samples Used On Drake's Take Care [DWNLD]

One of the first things I do once I finish listening to an album is go research all the familiar samples I hear but can't put my finger on. Well the good folks over at Babylon Cartel have compiled all the samples used on Drake's sophomore album,  Take Care, and made them available for download! The compilation contains R&B classics including Back That Azz Up by Juvenile, Anything by SWV, Calling On You by Jon B, my personal favorite If U Scared, Say U Scared by Playa and more.

Check the track list below:

Drake - The Ride ft. The Weeknd [DWNLD]

Earlier this week when Drake's Take Care leaked, there were still two joints missing off of it; Hate Sleeping Alone and The Ride. Well the rappers favourite track off the album finally surfaced today and its easily my favourite too. Just classic, old school Drake featuring the echoing remains of 90's R&B by The Weeknd. TDot all over this one. Make sure you go BUY Take Care on the 15th.
