MF Doom Interview w/ Red Bull Music Academy [Video]

This is a rare treat! MF Doom is easily one of the most complex musical genius' any music lover has ever encountered. Last year the RVS crew went to what was a typical Doom show in Toronto. He showed up hours late, performed for less then an hour and left leaving everyone feeling duped. "He plots shows like robberies, in and out, 1, 2, 3, nobody's pleased." I will admit however, for about 30 minutes or so there was pure artistry on that stage. Well on this lengthy RBMA interview the masked villain lays it all out there.

Onra speaks on his musical influences coming from two very different backgrounds in France and Vietnam and how it shaped his early album, Chinoseries. He also speaks on music from the far east and why it hasn't yet been established well enough around the world. The interview is a great precursor to his upcoming release Chinoiseries Pt. 2.


Having lived and traveled around East Asia for several years, this kind of recognition and usage of local sounds is very comforting and I can't wait to see what Onra comes up with in Chinoiseries Pt. 2.
