Onra Interview on BBC World Service 27th Dec 2010 by allcitydublin
(From Left To Right) Buddy Sativa, Kareem Hendrix (Myself), Onra In Toronto |
Onra speaks on his musical influences coming from two very different backgrounds in France and Vietnam and how it shaped his early album, Chinoseries. He also speaks on music from the far east and why it hasn't yet been established well enough around the world. The interview is a great precursor to his upcoming release Chinoiseries Pt. 2.
Having lived and traveled around East Asia for several years, this kind of recognition and usage of local sounds is very comforting and I can't wait to see what Onra comes up with in Chinoiseries Pt. 2.
If you haven't heard all of Onra's old stuff, I suggest you go do your homework!
