Laidback Luke is notoriously known for his remixes of some of the hottest songs at the moment. Tommy Sunshine’s 5AM, has recently taken the techno world by storm and is rocking the clubs worldwide. As the song starts, we immediately recognize the classic Laidback Luke feel and then the song drops onto the original first verse. The rest of it, is played around with to give an interesting club like feel. Towards the middle of the song, Laidback Luke plays around with the bass, moving it around and although at first it may sound jumbled, it plays off pretty nicely. Around the third minute, one can allude to the beat of Daft Punk’s iconic Robot Rock. The overall beat of the song may sound repetitive, another classic Laidback Luke feel, it somehow gets played off as if this repetitive sound was meant to be. Of the many remixes that are available of this song, this one has captured me the most. Give it a listen and let me know what you think!
